GREENBRIAR, Va. — A 53-year-old Chantilly woman using a mobility wheelchair was struck and killed while crossing Route 50 in Fairfax County on Sept. 18, police said.
Theresa Flynn was crossing Route 50 near Plaza Lane around 7:27 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound Kia Rio, according to police. Investigators said Flynn was crossing outside a marked crosswalk.
Flynn was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate speed and alcohol were not factors for the driver, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
