FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. — Fauquier County sheriff’s deputies made seven arrests and issued 63 traffic summonses during additional patrols Saturday as part of the nationwide Saturation Saturday impaired-driving enforcement effort.
The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office said deputies conducted 98 traffic stops and made one DUI arrest during the operation on August 29, 2026..
Three drivers also allegedly refused to stop for deputies Saturday night, resulting in separate vehicle pursuits.
One pursuit was terminated by a deputy before the driver was apprehended. In another case, a deputy was able to partially identify the driver, who was later located during the investigation and confessed, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver was charged, but authorities did not release the person’s name or specific charges.
A third pursuit ended when deputies used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle.
Mohammad Hamdan, 22, of Chantilly, was charged with felony eluding, abduction, reckless driving, reckless driving by speed, driving without a license and operating a vehicle with expired registration.
The sheriff’s office said the abduction charge stems from an allegation that a passenger asked Hamdan to stop during the pursuit and he refused.
Hamdan was being held at the Fauquier Adult Detention Center without bail.
