CLARKE COUNTY, Va. — A Round Hill motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Clarke County on Oct. 8, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Harry Byrd Highway, also known as Route 7, and Wickliffe Road.
Police said a 2014 Honda CR-V attempting to turn left from Wickliffe Road onto Harry Byrd Highway struck a 2020 Indian Scout motorcycle traveling on the highway.
The motorcyclist, John D. Byram III, 58, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, police said.
The SUV’s driver, Timothy A. Alger, 65, of Bluemont, suffered minor injuries and was charged with reckless driving.
The crash remains under investigation.
