FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. — A man has been arrested on multiple charges after causing a traffic hazard late Wednesday night.
At about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 11, 2025, a deputy with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) was dispatched to the 12000 block of Crest Hill Road after receiving a report of a possibly intoxicated driver.
Police said a man was reported slumped over in the driver’s seat of a silver Toyota Tundra that was facing the wrong direction in the roadway.
When the deputy arrived, the vehicle was running and located in the front yard of a nearby residence.
The driver was asked to exit the vehicle, and the deputy observed signs of impairment, authorities said.
The driver was taken into custody and the vehicle was towed.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, deputies located a firearm, ammunition and suspected narcotics, police said.
Shawn Hamrick, 53, of Marshall, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal of a blood or breath test, and possession or transportation of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He is being held at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.
