RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia State Police and partner agencies seized drugs valued at nearly $396,000 during enforcement efforts across the state Oct. 21-27.
The totals include seizures by state police, state and federal task forces, and operations in which troopers assisted other agencies.
Authorities reported recovering:
- 1.2 pounds of cocaine.
- 0.1 pounds of crack cocaine.
- 33.4 pounds of marijuana.
- 2.1 pounds of methamphetamine.
- 5.2 pounds of psilocybin.
- 80.3 pounds of THC consumables.
State police reported the seizures denied an estimated $395,886 in revenue from drug sales.
Removing illegal drugs from circulation can limit their availability and interrupt the supply reaching Virginia communities. Sustained enforcement is important because a single seizure does not stop an ongoing distribution network. Weekly efforts allow authorities to pursue suppliers, identify connections between cases and disrupt trafficking operations.
Collaboration among local, state and federal agencies allows investigators to share intelligence, coordinate resources and pursue cases across jurisdictional boundaries. Those partnerships can help authorities move beyond individual arrests to target the criminal enterprises responsible for distributing drugs.
Virginia State Police said the agency remains committed to enhancing public safety and enforcing laws throughout the commonwealth while supporting the governor’s initiatives to address violent crime. Through partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, State Police said it continues working to disrupt criminal enterprises and safeguard communities.
