
STAUNTON, Va. — One woman was killed and another injured in a stabbing early Sunday morning, according to police.
According to a media statement from the Staunton Police Department, officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. on August 30, 2026 to an open 911 call in the 300 block of Orchard Avenue.
Police found two female victims.
One woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second was taken to UVA Health and was listed in stable condition.
Police said a suspect was found at the scene and taken into custody.
Freddi Chigo Mil, 32, of Staunton, was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding.
Mil is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
