STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A man was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance near a Warrenton Road gas station Thursday afternoon.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was called to the area at approximately 4:24 p.m. on August 27, 2026 after receiving a report that a man was yelling at the gas station.
Authorities said the man showed signs of impairment, including glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Alvin Chewning, 43, of Bumpass was charged with public intoxication and taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was held until sober.
