FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. — A motorcyclist wanted by authorities in a neighboring jurisdiction is expected to face multiple charges after leading Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a pursuit that ended in a crash July 30.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy observed a motorcycle traveling 73 mph in a 55 mph zone at about 8 p.m. on Marsh Road (Route 17) between Bealeton and Morrisville. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the motorcycle’s driver accelerated away with a passenger, prompting a pursuit.
Authorities said the motorcycle traveled onto Ritchie Road, Elk Run Road, Bristersburg Road and Old Calverton Road before the driver lost control while approaching Marsh Road. Investigators said the motorcycle struck a culvert, ejecting both riders across the roadway.
Deputies immediately rendered first aid and requested emergency medical services. Both the driver and passenger were flown to Fairfax Hospital with what initially appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The passenger was identified as a 35-year-old man from Catlett. The driver, Trey Boswell, 29, of Orange, was wanted by law enforcement in a nearby jurisdiction, according to the sheriff’s office.
Boswell is expected to be charged with felony eluding, reckless driving, possession of Schedule I or II narcotics, obstruction of justice, driving on a revoked license and multiple traffic infractions.
