Arlington County, Va. — Three people believed to be juveniles were killed and a fourth was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early Monday after a stolen vehicle crashed while fleeing Virginia State Police.
VSP officers attempted to stop the vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. after determining it had been reported stolen in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Police said the vehicle fled on Interstate 395 before exiting toward Shirlington Road, where the driver lost control and struck a concrete barrier.
One passenger died at the scene.
The driver and another passenger later died at hospitals.
A fourth occupant remained hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Police said none of the four occupants appeared to have been wearing seat belts.
