
MANASSAS PARK, Va. — A Manassas Park High School teacher was arrested Thursday morning after school employees reported that she appeared to be intoxicated on campus.
A school resource officer contacted Shannon Sanders, 40, of Clifton, at approximately 7:30 a.m. August 27, 2026 and determined that she was highly intoxicated, according to police.
Sanders was charged with being drunk in public and taken to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.
Manassas Park City Schools said Sanders had just arrived on campus and had not supervised or interacted with students. She was placed on administrative leave.
Officials said no students were involved or placed in danger.
