
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — On Wednesday, local police arrested a man who was wanted on multiple shoplifting warrants and felony credit card theft.
According to the Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD), the arrest occurred September 17, 2025.
Officers detained Brian C. Tichner of Dyke. Tichner, who was a suspect in thefts at multiple big box stores within Albemarle County.
Tichner, 36, was then charged with:
-Felony credit card theft (§18.2-192)
-Shoplifting (§18.2-103)
-Petit larceny (§18.2-96)
Investigators believe Tichner may be a suspect in other thefts and shoplifting cases in the area. Additional charges are pending while the investigation is ongoing.
