
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred late Monday, August 25, 2025, on Interstate 95.
According to VSP, the crash happened at approximately 10:46 p.m. as a 2005 Dodge Ram attempted to exit I-95 northbound at Exit 143A.
The truck veered off the left side of the ramp before the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate and leave the roadway on the right side. The pickup then struck a culvert and slammed into an embankment.
The driver, identified as Rodney M. Livatt, 50, of Fort Valley, Georgia, was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the VSP.
