WARRENTON, Va. – In one day, the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) captured two men wanted in connection with two separate attempted murder cases.
Both alleged crimes occurred outside of Fauquier County.
On the morning of June 16, 2025, an anonymous tip was received by the FCSO Criminal Investigations Division. The tip, regarding a fugitive wanted for attempted murder out of Charles Town, West Virginia, led detectives to an address just north of Warrenton.
After hours of surveillance, enough information was obtained to make contact with the home’s occupants, who eventually cooperated.
Tyler Treharn, of Marshall, was located in an upstairs bedroom and detained. Treharn, 25, was transported to the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center, where he was served with a local warrant for being a fugitive from justice. The Charles Town Police Department was notified that Treharn—who had been wanted since January—was in custody.
Also on June 16, an FCSO deputy responded to a call about an illegally parked vehicle in Bealeton. The officer obtained vehicle registration information and discovered that the owner was possibly wanted for second-degree attempted murder in Louisiana. Detectives requested an undercover officer to conduct surveillance until the owner of the vehicle was positively identified.
Elvin Trejo Martinez, of Bealeton, was arrested after a traffic stop. Martinez, 38, was transported to the Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond on a fugitive-from-justice warrant. State and federal authorities had been searching for Martinez since 2023.
