
ELKTON, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a Waynesboro man on Wednesday.
According to a media statement from VSP Public Relations Coordinator Matthew Demlein, the incident occurred June 11, 2025, in Rockingham County.
At 6:45 a.m., a 2000 Subaru Forester was travelling northbound on South East Side Highway, near the intersection with Treeland Lane, when it ran off of the right side of the road, went down an embankment, overturned, and struck a tree.
The driver, Adonis William Boykin, 26, died at the scene.
Boykin was wearing a seatbelt. Fatigue is being looked at as a possible cause of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
