STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – A court date has been set for an individual who caused the death of a young Manassas man, and serious injuries to another.
According to an emailed media release from Virginia State Police Sergeant Brent W. Coffey, troopers responded to a crash on southbound Interstate 95 at the 146 mile-marker in the early-morning hours of November 16, 2024.
Shortly before 4 a.m., a 2018 Volvo XC90, was traveling in the wrong direction on I95 when it collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The impact caused the Volvo to overturn.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 25-year-old Patrick C. Ledoux of Manassas, died at the scene. Passenger Dylan Lester, 28, was seriously injured. The two young men were on their way to a hunting trip at New Kent Forestry Center – an outing they had excitedly prepared for together.
Jibril N. Ibn Jeter, of Fort Washington, Md., was identified as the driver of the Volvo. He remained hospitalized for almost two weeks following the accident. It’s not yet been publicly disclosed where Jeter entered I-95 in the wrong direction.
After his medical discharge, Jeter was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail where he remains, without bond.

According to an online tribute, Ledoux was also involved in a 2019 vehicle accident that left him a paraplegic. His resilience and determination, however, somehow turned this experience into inspiration for others.
Patrick had a presence that could fill a room and anyone who interacted with him said he possessed a glow, a light, and a passion for helping others.
Ledoux was a member of Virginia Wheeling Sportsman (VWS), an organization created to help mobility-impaired participants gain a sense of independence by learning to stay active in the outdoors. Joining this organization brought joy to Patrick, and gave him a way to continue doing the things he loved most.
On the morning of the accident, Ledoux and Lester were en route to an opening day hunting event with VWS.
Lester is still recovering from his injuries. According to an online fundraising page:
Dylan is now facing a long and painful road to recovery, both physically and emotionally. While he works to heal from his injuries, he is also mourning the profound loss of his best friend. Patrick was a key soul in Dylan’s walk of life, and a significant member of Dylan’s chosen family. This is a loss that is beyond comprehension.
Jeter, 48, was charged with involuntary manslaughter; driving under the influence. According to online court records, he is due to appear in Stafford General District Court for a preliminary hearing on January 10, 2025.
A celebration of life honoring Ledoux is planned for late December. Online donation options for Lester may be found by searching “Dylan Lester GFM.”
