SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — A deputy was injured earlier this month after being struck by a suspected drunk driver.
According to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the incident happened October 4, 2025.
At approximately 8:16 p.m., SCSO deputies responded to Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway for a motor vehicle crash.
Several deputies were at the intersection assisting with traffic control when a silver Honda failed to slow down for emergency personnel, authorities said.
The vehicle struck one of the deputies on the driver’s side, throwing the deputy to the ground. The driver fled the scene.
Deputies quickly canvassed the area and located the suspect vehicle a short time later at the 7-Eleven on Hood Drive.
The driver, identified as Jason Davis of Spotsylvania, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and felony hit and run.
Davis, 47, was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail and held without bond.
The injured deputy was transported to Mary Washington Hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
