Small Plane Crash-Lands in Spotsylvania

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a plane crash that occurred near Spotswood Furnace Road,

According to a media release from VSP Public Relations Coordinator Matthew Demlein, the incident occurred June 20, 2025. 

At approximately 2:34 p.m., a single prop aircraft had taken off from Shannon Airport, when it apparently suffered engine trouble, and had to crash-land in a field.

The plane’s two occupants suffered minor injuries.

The FAA has been notified and the crash remains under investigation.
