ORANGE COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on Route 20.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:01 a.m. Nov. 16 on Constitution Highway near Woodside Road.
Police said officers with the Town of Orange Police Department were pursuing a 2014 Nissan Altima when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway.
The Altima struck a ditch, a mailbox and two trees, went airborne, struck a second mailbox and came to rest, police said.
The driver, a 17-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the juvenile was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
