The deputy quickly located the suspect due to her erratic movements. She was identified as 28-year-old Brittany Atkins,
According to the SCSO, Atkins showed several signs of intoxication and told the deputy she hadn’t done “a lot” of drugs that day.
Deputies later discovered she had two prior DUI convictions from 2018, and her license was suspended.
A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected controlled substances.
Atkins was charged with driving under the influence, third offense within ten years, possession of controlled substances, driving while suspended, and third offense refusal.
She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
