
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — A juvenile was taken into custody Friday evening after reportedly brandishing a pellet gun near Monticello High School, according to the Albemarle County Police Department.
At approximately 6:47 p.m. on Oct. 10, 2025, officers responded to the area of Mill Creek Drive and Independence Way, near the school’s parking lot, for a report of a disorderly subject.
When officers arrived, they located a juvenile displaying a pellet gun. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
Police said the situation was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public. No injuries were reported.
The juvenile has been charged with felony brandishing (§18.2-282) and is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
