STAFFORD, Va. — A local man was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle during a trip to purchase narcotics.
At about 3:23 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2025, a Stafford County Sheriff’s Department (SCSO) deputy responded to the Sleep Inn, located at 595 Warrenton Road, for a report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle.
The victim told deputies she had been staying at the hotel with a Trent Robinson, who asked her to drive him to get “crack.”
When she refused and fell asleep, she awoke to find Robinson and her vehicle gone.
Investigators later learned Robinson’s license was suspended and that he was wanted in Spotsylvania County on a felony capias.
The deputy notified surrounding agencies that the vehicle was stolen.
Around 7:34 p.m., two SCSO deputies spotted the vehicle traveling on Warrenton Road and conducted a traffic stop at America’s Best Value Inn — coincidentally next door to the original incident.
Robinson, 36, was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving while suspended, and served with his outstanding warrant.
Robinson was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
