
FRONT ROYAL, Va. — A 22-year-old man was arrested earlier this month on charges related to an armed robbery at a local store in the spring.
Police say a masked suspect entered Robinson’s Grocery, located at 603 East 6th Street, around 9 p.m. on April 15, 2025, and demanded money from the cashier.
During the incident, the suspect discharged a single round from a firearm before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
After an intensive investigation, detectives with the Front Royal Police Department identified and arrested David Aaron Deavers, 22, of Front Royal.
Deavers is charged with:
Robbery (§ 18.2-58)
Discharging firearms within or at a building (§ 18.2-279)
Use or display of firearm in committing a felony (§ 18.2-53.1)
Reckless handling of firearms (§ 18.2-56.1)
Brandishing a firearm (§ 18.2-282.1)
Purchase, possession, or transportation of firearm following assault and battery of a family or household member (§ 18.2-308.1:8)
Police have not disclosed the amount of money taken from the grocery.
