WAYNESBORO, Va. — A man was found dead inside a West Main Street home on Friday afternoon, prompting a suspicious death investigation by local police.
According to a media statement from the Waynesboro Police Department, officers conducted a welfare check at a residence in the 2000 block of West Main Street on September 12, 2025
Inside the home, police discovered a deceased male, identified as 68-year-old Michael H. Capaccio of Staunton.
Police are investigating the case as a suspicious death. Authorities noted there is no immediate threat to the community.
