STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — An intoxicated driver from North Carolina is behind bars after crashing a pickup truck into a North Stafford residence late Monday night.
According to a media statement from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the incident occurred September 9, 2025.
At approximately 11:29 p.m., a SCSO deputy responded to Huff Drive after reports that a pickup had struck a parked vehicle before slamming into an occupied dwelling. While en route, dispatch advised that the driver was attempting to flee the scene.
Once on-scene, the deputy found a wide debris field.
A tree had been uprooted, a light post destroyed, and a Mercedes sedan severely damaged. The home sustained significant structural damage.
Following the trail of destruction, the officer located a heavily-damaged pickup truck attempting to leave the neighborhood.

The driver, identified as Alexandros Brownlee, 35, showed clear signs of intoxication.
He admitted to having “two beers with his steak and potato dinner” but could not recall where he had been before the crash.
Brownlee was also found to be operating the truck with a fictitious license plate.
Witnesses confirmed Brownlee was the driver involved in the crash.
The resident of the home narrowly avoided injury, telling deputies he had been about to walk into the struck portion of the house when a phone call delayed him.
Brownlee was arrested and charged with:
• Driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .20
• Felony hit and run of attended property
• Felony destruction of property
• Displaying a fictitious license plate
He is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
