
RICHMOND, Va. — A weeklong crime suppression initiative by the Virginia State Police (VSP), in coordination with federal and local partners, led to major seizures of narcotics, firearms, and cash while also advancing homicide and human trafficking investigations across the state.
Between August 20 and August 27, 2025, authorities recovered 10 firearms, seized more than 51 pounds of illegal drugs and 2,000 fentanyl pills, and confiscated over $32,000 in cash.
Key Findings
Firearms: Ten firearms, valued at roughly $5,000, were taken off the streets.
Narcotics:
A total of 51.7 pounds of drugs and 2,000 controlled substance pills were seized, with an estimated denied revenue of $826,258.
Cocaine: 15.3 pounds Crack cocaine: 1.9 ounces
Methamphetamine: 8.2 ounces
Marijuana: 34.7 pounds
Fentanyl pills: 2,000
Psilocybin mushrooms: 16 ounces
Currency
Investigators confiscated $32,163 in U.S. currency linked to illegal activity.
Homicides
Detectives opened a new homicide investigation during the operation.
Gaming Enforcement
Seventeen gaming-related tips were received, bringing the statewide total to 1,800.
Human Trafficking
13 new tips reported, totaling 1,174 to date 218 cases investigated or under investigation 3,220 individual investigative activities conducted 69 victims identified and connected with services
Ongoing Mission
“By working alongside local, state, and federal partners, we are disrupting criminal enterprises and safeguarding communities across Virginia,” the agency said in a statement.
VSP emphasized that these operations reflect their commitment to governor-led initiatives targeting violent crime and their broader mission of enhancing public safety.
