FISHERSVILLE, Va. — Local police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins reported on August 19, 2025, in the Teaverton subdivision.
According to a written media statement from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), deputies partnered with the Staunton Police Department to conduct a joint investigation.
That investigation led to the arrest of Durron Ashton Harris, of Charlottesville, who now faces multiple charges.
Harris, 21, has been charged with the following offenses:

Five counts of Petit Larceny (18.2-96)
Eight counts of Entering or Setting in Motion a Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Crime, Malicious Mischief, or Injury (18.2-147)
Harris is currently being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office credited quick community reporting and interagency cooperation for identifying a suspect and moving the case forward.
Officials also urged residents to remain vigilant by locking vehicles and removing valuables to help deter opportunistic crimes.
