SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. — Authorities are investigating a suspicious incident reported at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds involving a 13-year-old boy.
According to the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the juvenile’s parent called deputies on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, around 10 p.m., to report the encounter.
Investigators later interviewedy both the parent and child on August 29.
The boy told investigators he was walking toward his parent’s vehicle near the fair’s main ticket gate when he was approached by an unknown white female, believed to be in her 40s.
The woman allegedly asked him to help carry a crate to her vehicle and led him to a black pickup truck parked near the Masonry gate.
The truck was described as having a Tonneau cover and a vertical sliding rear cab window with a silver manual handle.
Inside, the boy observed two men before they exited the vehicle. At that point, the woman reportedly grabbed him.
The suspects were described as a tall white male, about six feet tall with a shaved or closely buzzed head and no facial hair, and a shorter Hispanic male, bald with neatly groomed facial hair.
The juvenile managed to break free and fled on foot as the men chased him. He ran toward another entrance gate, shouting for help, and soon located friends who escorted him safely back to his parents.
The case remains under investigation.
