SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Two men were taken into custody Tuesday evening after deputies responded to separate narcotics-related incidents.
At approximately 6:48 p.m. on August 26, 2025, deputies were called to the Wawa on Falcon Drive for a welfare check on a male subject.
Deputies said they observed a bag containing suspected narcotics protruding from the man’s pocket. The individual also claimed he needed medical attention due to drug use, and he was transported to a medical facility.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man fled from the ambulance and medical staff upon arrival. Deputies later located him hiding in nearby bushes. After a brief foot pursuit, he was apprehended and additional narcotics were recovered.
The suspect, identified as Paul Lawrence White, 38, of Spotsylvania, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II narcotic, resisting arrest, and possession of controlled paraphernalia.
Around the same time, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 4500 block of Lafayette Boulevard. The driver, identified as White’s roommate, Tommy Negron, 47, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I/II narcotic and driving under the influence of narcotics.
Both men were transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Deputies said suspected cocaine and fentanyl were seized in connection with the investigations.
