FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A 32-year-old Stafford woman was arrested for her third DUI in just two days, following a complaint about reckless driving on White Oak Road.
According to a media release from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the incident occurred March 19, 2025.
At approximately 1:49 p.m., a SCSO deputy responded to reports of a Ford vehicle swerving between lanes.
The caller reported that the driver seemed to be under the influence and had pulled into the Walgreens parking lot at 50 White Oak Road. This made it easy for the deputy to locate the vehicle.
Upon contact, the driver, identified as Leah Hicks, appeared highly disoriented, and deputies noted a strong odor of alcohol.
Due to these signs of intoxication, the deputy asked Hicks to perform field sobriety tests. Instead of complying, Hicks immediately placed her hands behind her back, as if she were already under arrest.
Further investigation revealed Hicks had been convicted of a DUI in February and had been ordered to install an ignition interlock device. However, no interlock device was found in her vehicle.
Additionally, deputies learned that Hicks had been arrested for DUI just the day before in Prince William County.
Hicks was charged with driving under the influence (third offense within five years), driving without an interlock system, and driving without a license.
She was taken into custody and is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
